Gondola Status

Heute, Sonntag, den 17.05.2026 hat die Karwendelbahn von 09:00 bis 17:30 Uhr geöffnet.
Montag, den 18. Mai und und Dienstag, 19. Mai 2026 ist die Karwendelbahn geschlossen.


Hiking trails & via ferrata

Wanderwege und Klettersteige oberhalb von 1.500 m sind teilweise schneebedeckt und bis Ende Mai, Anfang Juni gesperrt.


Panorama­weg

Der Panoramaweg ist aus Sicherheitsgründen derzeit noch geschlossen.

Das Wetter ist bewölkt (siehe Webcam). Wir haben eine Fernsicht von ca. 50 km. Temperatur am Berg -2°C, im Tal +3°C.

How to find us

By train:
Train to Mittenwald (from Munich and Innsbruck, no changes), then approx. ten minute walk to the bottom station of the Karwendelbahn gondola.

By car:
Travelling from Munich, take the A95 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, then the B2 via Klais to Mittenwald. “Karwendelbahn” exit. Cross underneath the cable car line and turn right into the free carpark.

Travelling from Innsbruck, take the main road towards Garmisch, travelling via Seefeld to Scharnitz. Do not take the turn into the village itself: about three kilometers after the Mittenwald exit you will see a turning to the Karwendelbahn gondola.
